Director of Project Management

The Director of Project Management, at Rose Digital is responsible for: ensuring that the principles of continuous improvement are utilized throughout the program development and delivery, and that project teams use flexible project planning designed to support the executional process.

This position serves as the primary contact for internal team members, agency practice and discipline leads, and outside vendors. The position is directly or indirectly involved in leading projects from new business through flawless execution. One of the most important aspects of this position is the ability to be the conductor of the project/team and be a proactive, solution-oriented, operationally strategic leader.

He/she is responsible for the optimization of team staffing structure, ensuring the right skill sets are applied to the work to serve the business requirements, deliverable quality, and partners with the account lead to manage the financial health of accounts. This role is also responsible for oversight of any day-to-day project managers assisting with specific programs and career management of his/her project management team.


  • Work across multidisciplinary teams to ensure we are delivering integrated solutions that achieve measurable business results for our clients. 
  • Develop and implement best practices for assisting the New Business team with planning for new engagements by providing Project Management perspective, leading estimation efforts and assisting with documentation as needed.
  • Creates or reviews all statement of work documentation for the team; accountable for top-down and bottom-up budgets to ensure scopes accurately reflect required work effort
  • Work with discipline leads to determine resource and skill requirements across all projects, and assign resources accordingly. 
  • Review and monitor utilization, productivity and burnout rates by discipline
  • Partner with Discipline leads weekly around resource allocation management and staffing projections for the organization. 
  • Implementation of best practices, training, reporting and overall management of Mavenlink, JIRA, Confluence and other PM tools. 
  • Create and manage the reporting to project profitability of client engagements at a program level.
  • Responsible for reporting on both financial status and project progress to senior leadership on a regular basis.
  • Structure and lead weekly project status reviews with the PM team and Leadership.
  • Responsible for risk management and escalation both with external clients and internal senior leadership. 
  • Anticipate issues, embrace ambiguity and be relentless in the pursuit of the right solution
  • Proactively identifies areas for process improvement and/or creation. Work across interdisciplinary teams to create, document, and roll out processes that scale.
  • Act as subject matter expert for our chosen tool set, become the expert and ensure team members are using the tools as intended. 
  • Hire, train, and grow the project management team while fostering diversity and career development. 


  • Bachelor Degree or Equivalent
  • 8+ years of project management experience, preferably within a technology focused agency environment
  • Experience working in a fast paced Startup or Technology/Engineering focused Environment
  • Experience managing cross-team, cross-functional initiatives 
  • Demonstrated success in project management, establishing a PM function, communicating with senior personnel, and in organizing, prioritizing, planning and executing multiple large and medium-scale projects from definition through implementation
  • In-depth knowledge of the technologies and processes involved in digital project delivery within an agency environment
  • Experience working on various complex projects, including design, web, mobile, and VR/AR development.
  • Expert level experience with JIRA, Confluence and the management of portfolios of work across clients using those tools.
  • Expert level experience managing multiple teams implementing Agile Methodologies. This includes the benchmarking, improvement planning and adherence to best practices to ensure all applicable agile best practices, ceremonies and methodologies are in use in the best way possible for each team.
  • Experience with project management tools used for task/time/resource management, like MS Office Applications, and other related project management and common communications tools.
  • Extensive experience and ability leading and managing people and multiple projects; motivation and influencing skills
  • Ability to mentor colleagues on project management techniques
  • Organizational expertise with high level of attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly influencing and listening skills
  • Experience managing a team of 5-10 project managers. 
  • Experience managing a variety of projects that involve various digital deliverables, capabilities and processes. 
  • Proven ability to navigate difficult situations with a solution oriented approach. 
  • An ability to motivate, support and provide focused interdepartmental leadership. 
  • Proven experience identifying and implementing solutions for improving client and team delivery processes.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict management skills
